Refugees and refugee issues are something near and dear to my heart. I spent my high school years helping resettled refugees in Atlanta and this past summer I spent three months interning in a refugee camp south of Athens, Greece. I made so many friends from all over the middle east. The travel ban was something that made me angry, as the people seeking refuge in the United States are not Islamic terrorists, but people who have children, and are so similar to myself and those I know in the US. I would want their countries to reach out to help if I ever needed to flee my own country, and I would not think twice doing the same for them. They need a place for their children to grow up and thrive, and the protection and promise of a better life. Discrimination against someone because of what country they call home, regardless of their religious beliefs, is to me, grossly unjust.

DACA
I would be in favor of keeping DACA, although the argument was made that DACA is an overstretch of the president's power.

Trump should raise the number of refugees allowed to enter the United States every year. It is our responsibility as a stable country to help these people left with nothing
